Nurturing your body for optimal health

Clinical nutrition | nutritional medicine

Clinical nutrition is a personalized approach to health that focuses on the interconnection between diet, lifestyle, and wellness. Through a detailed analysis of your current health, we work together to identify potential underlying imbalances, such as nutritional deficiencies, hormonal imbalances, and gut health issues.

In addition to dietary recommendations, I offer access to functional testing to better understand your body’s unique needs. This allows us to target specific areas such as digestive function, nutrient absorption, and metabolic health. With the help of prescription-based natural medicines and tailored supplementation, we can correct imbalances and support your body’s healing process.

Whether you’re struggling with digestive issues, low energy, or chronic conditions, nutritional medicine provides the tools and insights to restore balance and optimize your health. By integrating evidence-based practices with natural therapies, we work towards achieving long-term health and vitality.

frequently asked questions

Offering a green apple—representing nutrient-dense choices that support digestion, hormone balance, and long-term health through nutritional medicine.
  • Clinical nutritional medicine focuses on understanding how our diet and lifestyle (epigenetics) impacts health and disease. A nutritional medicine practitioner is trained to work with differences in metabolism, genetics, and dietary preferences. We recognise predispositions to various health conditions and provide guidance on how to prevent or manage these issues though tailored nutritional strategies.

  • A clinical nutrition practitioner offers personalised dietary and lifestyle advice and may prescribe specialised, practitioner-only supplements to support a wide range of health conditions. Our recommendations are often based on recent research and evidence, ensuring that the advice and supplements are effective and safe.

  • Clinical nutrition can assist with a wide range of health concerns, including:

    • Digestive disorders (bloating, IBS, reflux, SIBO, leaky gut etc.)

    • Hormonal imbalances

    • Immune support

    • High cholesterol and blood pressure

    • Low energy or fatigue

    • Weight management

    • Skin conditions

    • Life stage nutrition (pregnancy, menopause, ageing)

    • Cellular stress support for stress, anxiety & depression

    • Inflammation and chronic disease support

    and much more.

  • Your initial consultation is around 60 minutes and includes a thorough review of your health history, current concerns, diet, lifestyle, stress, and any medications or supplements you’re taking.

We’ll discuss your goals and identify any underlying factors contributing to your symptoms. Functional testing or pathology may be recommended to assess things like nutrient levels, gut health, inflammation, or genetic markers.

From there, you’ll receive a personalised plan which may include dietary changes, targeted supplementation, lifestyle strategies, and follow-up support to help you move toward lasting results.

  • The time to see results from clinical nutrition interventions can vary. It may take days, weeks, or even longer depending on the individual and the condition/s being addressed. Your practitioner will work with you to monitor progress and adjust your plan as needed to help you achieve and maintain optimal health.

  • Yes, clinical nutritionists are trained to interpret standard blood tests and may also recommend functional testing to gain deeper insight into your health. These tests can help identify nutrient deficiencies, inflammation, hormonal imbalances, digestive function, liver detox pathways, and more. Examples of functional testing include stool analysis, food sensitivity testing, hormone panels, and organic acid testing. The information gathered is used to create a personalised, targeted plan to support your body’s unique needs.

  • Functional testing is available when deeper insight is needed into areas like gut health, hormonal balance, nutrient status, or genetic factors. It’s not required for everyone — your plan is always tailored to your needs, and testing is recommended only when it will meaningfully guide your treatment.

  • Yes — I offer online appointments for clients across Australia and beyond. This is a convenient option if you’re unable to attend in person, and you’ll receive the same level of personalised care.

  • No. While I may prescribe high-quality, practitioner-only supplements when necessary, I aim to keep recommendations targeted and meaningful. The focus is always on foundational health through food and lifestyle first.
